Noritake was established by Baron Morimura in 1904 in the town of Noritake, Japan with the specific purpose of producing porcelain for export to the United States, going under the name of Rose China from 1945-1948. Early Noritake china which was called Nippon, is most popular for its handpainted designs. Noritake later added flatware and crystal to its growing diversified list of products.
